DESCRIPTION:Pool Lifeguard  Course\n\n\nThe Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Certificate is recognised throughout Australia and in many countries around the world. The certificate is an entry-level professional qualification that can lead to an exciting career in the aquatic and recreation industry. \n\nThe course offers expert professional training\, and leads to a nationally accredited skill set - ‘SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard Skill Set’. Along with covering the skills and knowledge of first aid\, resuscitation\, swimming and water safety you will also learn about rescue and emergency response techniques\, aquatic supervision\, risk management\, public relations\, effective communication\, conflict management and basic technical pool operations. These are valuable skills in any work context and lifeguarding is a dynamic\, in-demand profession that can open up work opportunities in a wide variety of national and international locations. There are also opportunities for career advancement such as Supervisor\, Duty Manager\, Facility Manager\, Swim Teacher and Trainer/Assessor. \n\nSuccessful candidates will receive a statement of Attainment for Units of Competency from the SIS National Sport\, Fitness and Recreation Training Package: \n\n\n	HLTAID009 Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation \n	HLTAID011 Provide first aid* (*Credit Transfer only - must hold current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid)\n	SISCAQU019 Supervise patron safety in aquatic locations\n	SISCAQU020 Perform water rescues\n	SISCAQU021 Perform complex water rescues\n	SISCAQU022 Provide oxygen resuscitation and therapy in an aquatic environment\n\n\n  \n\nIntroduction:\nWant to become a Lifeguard? Our Pool Lifeguard courses will teach you everything you need to become the best Lifeguard you can be. Lifeguarding is a great job and excellent entry point into the aquatic industry.  \n\n\nTarget Audience:\nParticipants must read and accept the terms and conditions of Royal Life Saving - SA‚ which includes the details for refunds‚ cancellations and course transfers. These documents are located on the Student Information page on our website.\n\nPrerequisites\nCourse enrolment requires a current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate\, within three years of issue date. Update courses require a current Pool Lifeguard certificate (completed within previous 15 months). Candidates are required to be the age of 16 or over at the time of undertaking the course. \n\nParticipant Enrolment and Completion Timeframes \n\nWhen a participant confirms their booking or enrolment in a skill set\, unit of competency\, or qualification\, they are expected to engage in the eLearning\, online assessments\, and follow the completion recommendations outlined in the course information \n\nIt is a requirement of the Pool Lifeguard course to fully complete all eLearning and Online Assessments within fourteen (14) days of attending the face to face course\, otherwise the enrolment will be cancelled.\n  \n \n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes:\n \n\n\nLearning Methods:\nTheory\n\nLifeguarding and the law; accident prevention; risk management; aquatic supervision; first aid principles; rescue response; rescue skills; rescue procedures; administration and management; public relations and education; pool operations; and venue considerations.\n\nA series of online training modules are required to be completed to sufficiently collect the knowledge evidence of the course.
